Jennifer Nguyen

teacher

I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology, 32 units of Early Childhood Education, and a Master teacher permit in Child Development. Originally I went to college to become a nurse, preferably in pediatrics, but after I graduated I took some time off to figure out if I wanted to continue that path or to find something with my degree. I got a job as a behavioral therapist and worked one-on-one with children with autism from ages 4-13. One of my patients had sessions at their preschool where I first was introduced to the teaching environment. I fell in love with preschool and interacting with the children and was offered a teaching aid position at that school.

About me

my experience

I worked as a teaching aid for about a year and I learned more about becoming a teacher for preschool. After a year, I went back to school and got all the credits I needed and applied for the highest teaching permit available for preschool. I taught as a teacher for another year before leaving and finding my new home at Discovery Montessori.
